Bristol is famous for its street art. It is after all the home of Banksy. Over the last few years the buildings, underpasses, bridges, buildings and street furniture of inner Bristol have been turned into an art gallery.
Last week a group of us met up for a photographic tour of east Bristol street art and I thought I would try to find some door photos for Thursday doors: A weekly photo challenge run by Norman Frampton. In some pictures the door has almost disappeared, in others a normal door has become part of the picture. The art certainly brightens up a drab neighbourhood. Victorian terraces have been transformed and there is an air of gentrification with upmarket independent shops, multi ethnic restaurants and music venues. House prices are also rising steeply and young couples and families are moving in.

I have included the bottom photo as a window is being used as a door. The Banksy graffiti is on the side of what used to be the sexual health clinic. If you would like to see more of my photos or find out more about Bristol visit theplatinumline.blog
I always love receiving comments so don’t be shy. To see more Thursday doors visit Norm’s website and perhaps add your own post.
Bristol sounds like my kind of town!

Bravo these are all excellent choices but I have to say that first one speaks to me the most. From everything I’ve seen and read Bristol is certainly the place to visit for innovative street art. I’m sure I would have loved to be on a tour like this one.
Thanks for sharing these 🙂

Thanks for visiting. I am sure I will be able to find plenty more. We did discuss the history of graffitti from cave paintings onwards.

Every time I see a post about the street arts in Bristol, I feel bad that I wasn’t able to pass by that place when I went to London. Maybe one day.
Thanks for sharing!
