A quick introduction to my blog

Stoke Park Estate one of my favourite local parks

This website is designed to help visitors to the South West of England and South Wales. I run https://www.theplatinumline.blog where I try to share photos and descriptions of places I have visited and walks I have enjoyed in Bristol and Bath and beyond. I want to use this site to add information and travel inspiration whether you are a local, a frequent visitor or just enjoying some escapism and dreaming of your next adventure. Come with me on my travels and I will try and share some of the sights and sounds I experience on the way.

If you think there are places I should include please let me know and if you enjoy my blog please subscribe to get my latest updates automatically.

I hope you can join us on our rambles and enjoy what our region has to offer

If you were a film director casting a film about a boy wizard at a magical school you would need to imagine the cinema on opening night. This would help define the type of music used, the length of each scene, the language used in the script and even the marketing campaign. I think starting a blog poses similar challenges. In my mind my ideal reader is female probably retired and enjoys exploring new places. I hope she likes learning more about the environment and local history as well as wanting to sample local food.

I called my main blog the platinumline as platinum is a metal associated with the number 70. If you have been married for seventy years you celebrate your platinum wedding anniversary. When I worked in a laboratory I used platinum electrodes and I realised that it was a dull grey very soft metal. It is how ever very valuable.

However I hope as my blog grows I will be able to interact more with my readers and find what resonates on my site. I would love to read your comments and do feel free to introduce yourself especially if you don’t fit my stereotype.
